چکیده
Abstract Background Many solutions have been proposed in treating of forearm supination. Comparing with other supination function reconstructions, pronator teres rerouting is believed to be less effective due its insufficient strength. The aim this study introduce a modified procedure, and compare result two previous approaches. Patients methods From 2015 2020, 11 patients restored by the weave sutured allogeneic tendons. average follow-up period was 17.5 months (12 24). range active at final recorded. Results Almost all acquired good range. post-operative 72.7° (60° 80°) follow-up. No complication observed. All retained full pronation. Conclusions This provides reconstruction simple operating, fine results, low risks, no affecting pronation function. use tendon makes up for muscles length, making it valuable reconsider those rebuilding operations that were once considered unpromising many.

Biomechanics of Forearm Rotation: Force and Efficiency of Pronator Teres
Biomechanical models are useful to assess the effect of muscular forces on bone structure. Using skeletal remains, we analyze pronator teres rotational efficiency and its force components throughout the entire flexion-extension and pronation-supination ranges by means of a new biomechanical model and 3D imaging techniques, and we explore the relationship between these parameters and skeletal st...
متن کاملMechanical evaluation of the Pronator Teres rerouting tendon transfer.
We simulated pronator teres rerouting using a three-dimensional biomechanical model of the arm. Simulations comprised the evaluation of changes in muscle length and the moment arm of pronator teres with changes in forearm axial rotation and elbow flexion. The rerouting of Pronator Teres was simulated by defining a path for it through the interosseous membrane with re-attachment to its original ...
متن کاملMotor Branch Biopsy of the Pronator Teres Muscle in a Patient with Painful Forearm Neuropathy
Histological evaluation of a peripheral nerve is often the final diagnostic work-up for a neuropathy of unknown origin, and a distal sensory nerve is usually biopsied. Here, we report the case of a female patient with painful unilateral neuropathy in the upper arm. According to the histological evaluation of the pronator teres motor branch, vasculitis seemed to be the most probable cause of the...
متن کاملEarly Surgical Treatment of Pronator Teres Syndrome
We report a rare case of pronator teres syndrome in a young female patient. She reported that her right hand grip had weakened and development of tingling sensation in the first-third fingers two months previous. Thenar muscle atrophy was prominent, and hypoesthesia was also examined on median nerve territory. The pronation test and Tinel sign on the proximal forearm were positive. Severe pinch...
متن کاملPronator teres transfer to correct pronation deformity of the forearm after an obstetrical brachial plexus injury.
A pronation deformity of the forearm following an obstetric brachial plexus injury causes functional and cosmetic disability. We evaluated the results of pronator teres transfer to correct their deformity in 14 children treated over a period of four years. The mean age at surgery was 7.6 years (5 to 15). The indication for surgery in each case was impairment of active supination in a forearm th...
